Magellan left with a fleet of five ships.
The voyage began in Seville on October 10, 1518.
They started out with 245 men on the five ships.
The ships set sail hoping to find the Spice Islands.
It took them 143 days to go from Sanlucar de Barrameda to "Rio de la Plata.
They stayed in the Canary Islands for three days.
"The Strait- The Point of no return"
After 99 days of sailing they arrived at the Marina Islands.
They traveled for days without seeing land.

The voyage continues.
This exhibit shows when the fleet of ships arrived at Indonesia.
Arriving at the Indian Ocean.
After days of sailing they arrived at the Cape of Good Hope.
They experienced lots of storms on their journey around the world.
Only one of the five ships made it back to Seville after traveling for three years.

We had a wonderful day in Seville. I enjoyed the exhibit showing the first trip around the world. that began in Seville, Spain where we were.
