Betsy's Baptism
We are grateful that we could be with another granddaughter as she was baptized. On February 21, 2009 Betsy was baptized and confirmed a member of the church by her father, Kenneth Richardson with both grandfathers assisting. They invited their friends over to their home for her Temple Cake after Betsy's baptism.

Betsy's Birthday Celebration
We were happy that we could be with our granddaughter Betsy for her family birthday party and baptism. We gave Betsy her own set of scriptures and her parents gave her a case for them, a journal and some skates. Her Church grandparents had great gifts also. It is our family tradition to make a temple cake on thier eighth birthday.

Jared's Eagle Court of Honor
Jared shows that he is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent as he received Scouting's highest honor of becoming an Eagle Scout. His parents, Kenneth and Jenni Richardson, have helped him with this great achievement and we are so proud of him. We are happy that we could be with him for this special occasion. He has set a good example for his younger brothers.

Jared's Eagle Project
On February 20, 2009 we flew to Albuquerque to be with Kenneth and Jenni for two big events in their family, Jared's Eagle Scout Court of Honor and Betsy's baptism. Forr Jared's Eagle project he organized and painted two big United States maps on the playgrounds of two elementary schools. I enjoyed meeting Adam and Betsy after school to see the map on their playground. Jared has worked hard and his parents have given him lots of support. We congratulate him on this great achievement.

Great Visits with Our BYU Grandchildren
It was great to have a good visit with our BYU grandchildren. Melvin showed Braden his Russian souvenirs. Braden has been called to the Russia Samara Mission which is the same mission where Melvin served. Jordan, Kaitlin, and Carl came up to see us and visit in the evening since they had other commitments in the morning. We had a great day together.

Carter Jay Richardson's Blessing
Carter Jay Richardson was given a name and a beautiful blessing by his father, Melvin Kent Richardson assisted by both of his grandfathers and cousins. It was great to have ten of our grandchildren come up from BYU to be with us. Jay now has seven grandsons with Jay for a middle name. There is Dallas Jay, Carl Jay, Nathan Jay,Hyrum Jay,Adam Jay and now Carter Jay. Melvin and Tami had 43 in their home for brunch after the blessing. Carter is a beautiful baby and looked so cute in his white clothes for his blessing. We became acquainted with another great grandson for the first time. Bret and Carrie brought their baby Brian Dallas with them. He was born January 19th. We are so blessed and grateful for these new little spirits in our extended family. It was fun to get a picture of the two babies together.

Preparing for Carter's Blessing and Family Brunch
Kaitlyn showed us what she has learned on the violin and Melvin enjoyed playing with his girls and then we all worked to have the food and home ready for a family brunch after Carter's blessing. Tami made a cute valentine display, Melvin put up their new table and chairs and I made about twelve dozen cinnamon rolls.

Our First Snow of the Winger
We enjoyed our first snow of the winter with Melvin and Tami and their fmaily in Fasrmington, Utah. The scene from their home looked like a winter wonderland. Melvin was happy for his snow blower to clean his walks and the walks of his neighbors. Lauren made snow angels in the beautiful snow. I went sledding for my very first time and loved it.
Valentine Day 2009 and Arizona's Birthday
We had a great valentine celebration and remembered Arizona's birthday and the groundbreaking for a third temple in Arizona in the Gila Valley. Kaitlyn, Ashley and Lauren all brought valentines home from their school party and had a valentine party at their home for their friends. On Valentine Day Melvin made heart shaped pancakes for breakfast, we put valentines into the valentinue box for our family members and we had a great family valentine party. There was lots of love shown for everyone.
