I had some extra time around Temple Square on November 29th, 2016 so I enjoyed the new exhibit at the Church Art and History Museum.
The exhibit showed landscapes along the Mormon Trail from Winter Quarter's to Salt Lake City. This was as 1,300 mile route traveled between 1846 and 1868 as the pioneers traveled to new homes in the west . Each painting is paired with an excerpt from a pioneer trail journal or reminiscence. They tell of the gr eat adventure filled with amazement, wonder and beauty as well as tragedy. The artist painted the landscapes as the pioneers would have seen on the trail in all four seasons.

I enjoyed so much this exhibit at the Church History and Arts Museum of the landscapes along the Mormon Trail". I am grateful for the faith, sacrifice and dedication of those early pioneers and the legacy they left me.
