I am enjoying being with my cute granddaughters who we don't get to see very often.
We drove past five waterfalls to come to the Multnomah Falls. You can see from the plaque that they are huge and they are beautiful.
Multnomah Falls is the most visited natural setting in Oregon.
Jay didn't feel like the walk to the falls so we took pictures to show him.
We enjoyed the beauty of God's creations on our drive to the Columbia River Gorge.

Aug, 26, 2009 Randall and Lidiette came for a great visit. They shared letters and pictures from Thomas on his mission in London, England. He is a great missionary and having lots of success.
Jay got a walker so that he can get around easier.
Friday, August 28th we flew to Portland to visit Dean and our granddaughters. I took a picture of Dean in the doorway of his new home.
We enjoyed being with our cute granddaughters, Devyn and Brielle.
I always enjoy reading good books to our grandchildren.
Jordan and Kaitlyn visited us on their way back to BYU and told us of their wedding plans.
We are grateful for another grandson who is planning a temple wedding in October and are happy to welcome Kaitlyn into our extended family.
Mark and Marlene invited us over to their home for dinner and home evening on Monday night, August 24, 2009. Rebekah loved the back to school gifts we gave her. She gave advice to her younger brothers and sisters before leaving for BYU.
Marlene is busy making Rebekah a quilt to take to BYU using scraps from material used to make clothes for her through the years that have lots of memories.
Rebekah shared with us pictures she took on the trip she took to Nauvoo, New York and Boston with Vernon , Connie and family.
Saturday afternoon, August 22, 2009 I had another first time experience. The Becks took their wave runner out to as near by lake and we had lots of fun.
It was scary to see Jamie take the wave runner out on the lake and spin it round and dash through the waves as she made sharp turns. 
Colby tried to keep his cast dry with a plastic bag and enjoyed going out with Skyler. They were really dare devils as they spun around the lake.
Dallas said that going out on the wave runner was not top priority for him but after one run he wanted to go again and again. Here Tony is helping Dallas get ready to take Jamie on a fun run.
Tony insisted on taking me out on the wave runner and we did have a great time. He rode the waves, spun around making sharp turns and cruised through the water. The wave runner really has lots of power and is so fun. So now I can list this to my first time experiences.
Miriam took Dallas, Dianna, Jay and I to the newly built pedistrian bridge across the Missouri River. We took turns pushing Jay in a wheelchair.
The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge is very picturesque as it curves across the river.
The plaque on the side of the bridge says, "A River of the People"
It was a pleasant day and we enjoyed this beautiful bridge. Some say that it is getting as much noriety as the Arch in St. Louis
At the middle of the bridge we were able to put one foot in Nebraska and the other foot in Iowa.
After our session at the Winter Quarter's Temple we went over to the Mormon Trail Center where I was able to visit with Elder and Sister Holtry who are serving a mission there. We served together as missionaries in Nauvoo. They are great missionaries.
I enjoyed being able to introduce my daughter and grandson to my missionary friends.
The flowers were beautiful in front of the Mormon Trail Center.
I had a wonderful afternoon with my family who live in Council Bluffs, Iowa. What a joy to welcome home a missionary.
On the way home we crossed the Mormon Bridge and thought of all the Church History in this area.
We enjoyed so much our good visits with our missionary grandson. He had some wonderful experiences.
Colby is working to finish painting their home before he leaves for BYU. You can see him up on the roof.
Colby recently had surgery on a wrist damaged playing football so is painting with a cast on one arm. He will have to wear the cast as he begins school at BYU.
Dallas said one of the things that he missed most on his mission was being able to go to the temple. The first thing he wanted to do was to go to a session at the Winter Quarter's Temple.
I enjoyed going to the temple with him and his parents and Beck grandparents. I wish his Grandpa Richardson felt like going with us.
