Matilda

Kenneth and Jenni invited me to go with them to the production of  Matilda on June 13th for a gift for my birthday.
It was held at the new Hale Theatre in Sandy.
This is my first time in this theatre were the stage is in the middle with seating all around making it a theatre in the round
It was fun to see things coming down from up above and different areas of the stage being lifted up.
It was quite the experience to watch.
I only took photos of the bows at the end.
Each actor and actress took their bow.
It was such a fun production.
At the end lots of balloons came down from the ceiling.

Thanks Kenneth  and Jenni for a great birthday present.

My Birthday Spent at Conference Center

I was scheduled to serve at the Conference Center on my 84th birthday, June 12, 2019.
The flowers at Temple Square are always so beautiful.
I look forward to this display in the director's office that is changed frequently.
We gave tours today to 188 guests from all over the world.  I gave tour to a couple from the Netherlands.  They saw a portrait of President Hickley and asked if that was Joseph Smith. I also gave a tour to a family from Tennessee  and a couple from Florida,
Garry and Janet met me at the Conference Center when I finished my shift.  We walked by this statue of Joseph and Emma in the gardens by the Church Administration Building.
Garry treated me to dinner at the Lion House to celebrate the birthday we share.  Leona was in Texas so she didn't get to be with us.
Ican't believe that I am 84 years old.  That sounds so old.  I have had a good life up to now and have had lots of good experiences. I am blessed with a good family who I love with all my heart and they express their love to me.  I am grateful for membership in what I know is Christ's true church here upon the earth.  I know that this is His church and directed by His chosen prophet for this time in Church History.  I am grateful for  Christ's atonement an the enabling power it give me to be able to be reunited with Jay and  Donald and Dale again.  I know that Heavenly Father knows me and loves me.  He answers my prayers and is there for me.  I feel like I still have lots I need to do  to give a good example to my 12 living children,my 67 grandchildren and my 63 great grandchildren.
Garry and Janet have a mission call to  go to Spain on August 17th.  I will miss them but know they will do a lot of good.
More beautiful flowers around Temple  Square.
My friend Pam Shelton gave me this beautiful bouquet of flowers for my birthday.
The day after my birthday Pam treated Jenni and  me to Mexican food at the Maria Bonita Mexican Food restaurant in Orem.  I ordered my favorite Chili Rellenos.  I am blessed with  good friends.

Provo Pioneer Village

It is good to be back on June 10, 2019  for another year serving as a docent at the Provo  Pioneer Village.

It opened on Memorial Day so my first time back was on June 3rd.
Our story teller tonight was Gary Hansen giving stories about the Indian Flute.

He had lots of stories about the flute and played for us.

The story teller had lots of Indian flutes that he demonstrated for us.
Elaine brought an interesting musical instrument to show us.
It is played like a harp.
These girls enjoyed dressing like pioneers and riding in the Covered wagon.
These boys had fun learning to walk on the stilts.
They also had fun throwing the hoop and trying to catch it.
This is one of the earliest photos of Provo when they were enclosed in a fort for protection from the Indians.
                                                  Another photo of early Provo.
                                                      Andy loves riding his bicycle.

Fred and Parker at my Birthday party.
We had a nice dinner together.
Rauna put candles on  my cake to resemble an 8 and as 4.
I can't believe that I  am 84 years old.  That sounds so old.
My family lit the candles on my cake and everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to me.

There were lots of candles to light.

I made a wish and took a big breath.
I was able to blow out all of my candles.
                                                                     So  I got  my wish.
I serve my birthday cake to my children. grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Maland was diagnosed with  Type A Diabetes  so has to always check his blood sugar.
I enjoyed being with so many of my children and grandchildren.
I feel blessed to have such a supportive family.
Ray has the plaque I gave him for Christmas displayed in his  living room.
Maland, Koen and Stratten put on a cute  skit for all of us.  It was one they planned on their own.
Rauna gave me a book with beautiful  Nauvoo photos for my birthday.  I will  love reading it. Thanks family for a great birthday party.
