Conference Center Miracle

It was a miracle on November 14, 2018 that I got to see these wonderful friends from Indonesia and give them a tour of the Conference Center.  The director put a couple of others ahead of where she was going to assign me  to give tours so I was the next one t o give a tour when I was surprised to see the Siregar family from Bogor.  It was a miracle that I was not already on a tour and missed them.
This is their first time to come to America.  They came to bring  their son to the Missionary Training Center to learn Cantonese to serve in Hong Kong.
I enjoyed so much getting an update on all my friends in Indonesia that we knew on our mission.

Sunday Dinner at Fred and Rauna's home

Sunday evening, November 11, 2018 Rauna invited me to have dinner with them.
Koen performed for us.  He loves to sing and quickly learns asl the words to the song.  He sang "A Million Dreams" from The Greatest  Snowmen.

Amy comes to drive my car back to Arizona

Amy flew up to Utah on November 9th to drive my car back to Arizona.  After I picked her up at the Frontrunner we drove down by  the Provo River to see the beautiful ball leaves.
There is as beautiful walk along the side of the Provo River.
There is a scenic bridge across Provo River.

The view of the river from the bridge.
We could see the snow on the mountain and the fall leaves around the river.
                                            Walking across the bridge
                                               Enjoying the fall leaves.
Amy and I enjoyed walking along the banks of the river.
Back at my home I had roast with vegetables and gravy ready to eat .
Living room in my Provo Home.
                                                       Kitchen in my Provo Home.
I enjoy the sacred grove painting at the end of  the hall way next to the bedrooms.
We left Provo early the morning of November 10th for the trip to Arizona.  Along  the way we stopped at Fillmore, Utah.
Fillmore was the capital of the Utah Territory fr om 18 51 to 1856  when the capital was moved to Salt Lake City.
The original Utah Territorial State House.
Fillmore was named for the thirteenth U> S> President Millard Fillmore.
The flags on the near by park to celebrate Veteran's Day.
                                                      There were lots of flags.
We stopped at a rock shop in Orderville.
They had some beautiful rocks for sale.
Amy and a dinosaur at the park.
An old minor at the park made out of wood.  Amy bought some gifts for her friends and gave me a beautiful little rock tree.
Another stop was at Lake Powell.
We drove over to a scenic view.
The bridge over the Glen Canyon Dam at the Colorado River.
Another view of the dam and the bridge.
We stopped at Page to rest and have a Mexican food lunch.  Amy and I enjoyed a good visit during the long drive from Utah to Arizona.

Kaitlyn's BYU Symphony Orchestra Concert

I went with Melvin and Tami and their family to my granddaughter Kaitly's BYU Symphony Orchestra Concert at the Harris Fine Arts Center on November 8, 2018.
Kaitlyn auditioned and made the eight chair out of seventeen in the first violin section.  This is a great honor for her freshman  year with all the competition and talent at BYU.
I really enjoyed the concert and the numbers they played.
They played numbers composed by Bach and Wagner and then some waltzes by Johann Strauss and his son.
I especially enjoyed the Emperor Waltz.  The director had the audience clap through part of it.  He would have us clap loud and then softer and then stop for awile and begin again.
I remember the Emperor Waltz was one when I was in first grade that our teacher played to help us appreciate classical music.  Miss Laverne had an activity going that if we could recognize the different music pieces she played she would give us our own record.  I worked hard to earn a record every time she offered it.  This helped me appreciate good music.
Thanks Kaitlyn for a wonderful concert of beautiful lmusic.
My grandchildren give me lots of joy.
After the concert Melvin treated us all to ice cream at the Courgareat.  The BYU Creamery ice cream is the best.
I enjoyed being on the BYU Campus.
                                         My family loves BYU.

It was good to have t hem in my home one last  time before I moved back to Arizona.
Betsy wearing her beautiful homecoming dress.  She is as beautiful granddaughter.
After dinner we had home evening at my home.
It was great to have the priesthood in my home and for my son to  give us a home evening lesson.

Fall Leaves in Provo

I enjoyed seeing the different seasons while living in Utah.
I invited Jenni to go with me to the BYU Art Museum on November 2nd and enjoyed seeing the beautiful fall leaves around the BYU campus.
It was great to see the different shades of red leaves.
More beautiful scenery on the BYU Campus.
Sunset taken from the back porch of my Provo home.
The tree in front of my home has made a carpet of fallen leaves.
I have enjoyed watching the leaves on the tree change colors and then lose its leaves.
This is a beautiful time of year in Utah.
                                                There is beauty everywhere.
The view of fall and Mount Timp from the front window of my home.
Fall leaves and snow on Mount Timp.
