Joann's Visit

We have enjoyed Joann's visit. We made a quick stop on March 11th so that Joann could see the Book of Mormon paintings at the Arizona Temple Visitor Center.
The paintings of scenes from the Book of Mormon are beautiful.
It is too bad that we didn't have more time to see them but we had to get back to her Dad. Amy was with him and had to leave.
I enjoy the Arizona Temple lit up at night.
The temple radiates light in what would be a dark world.
Joann shows Amy her scrapbook of family activities.
Amy spent a lot of time while she was here feeding her Dad.
She worked every spare minute on a cross stitch that she is making of Derek for his High School graduation.
Amy came over for Sunday dinner.
The cross stitch of Derek is starting to look like him.
I enjoy quilting on Jay Reese's baby quilt while I sit by Jay where I can hold his hand.
Joann and I had a good visit while she was here. We worked hard on a scrapbook we made with my pictures from the Bruce and Irene Flake Reunion.
Jay spends several hours each day sitting in his chair.
I am enjoying every day that we can spend together.
We are so happy that Joann took time to come and visit us. She provided lots of service while she was here.

LIGHT Competition Rehearsal

My granddaughter Jamie invited us to her LIGHT rehearsal on March 11, 2011 as they make their final preparations to enter a competition in New York City.
Joann and I enjoyed watching Jamie perform with the group.
They had some nice musical numbers
and some great choreography. .
I hope they do well at the competition.
This is a fun group for Jamie to be involved with.
It has helped Jamie develop her singing and dancing talents.
The members of LIGHT have lots of enthusiasm as they perform their numbers.
They will compete against show choirs from all over the nation.
I enjoyed watching Jamie as she performed with the group.
She has developed a lot of stage presence through performing with LIGHT.
They changed costumes a couple of times during their performance.
They also changed the style of music.
The LIGHT performers wore costumes to look like different animals for their last number.
I couldn't tell what some of the animals were by their costumes but some were easy to tell.
The trip to New York City and the competition will give Jamie lots of good memories.
The truck with all the equipment is ready to drive to New York City for the competition. The performers will fly.
Rauna, Fred and Chelsea also watched the performance with Joann and I. It was a nice evening.

We Enjoy Anyone who Comes to Visit Us

Joann flew from Ohio on March 10th, 2011 to spend time with us.
We are thankful that our children have been good to come and visit us.
Marlene came over to visit her sister.
Rauna came too and brought projects to do.
It was wonderful being with three of my daughters. I made Margie's Chicken Salad for lunch with oatmeal cookies.
We ate early before Marlene had to leave to take Ryan to kindergarten.
Jay enjoyed the visit even though he couldn't say much. I washed the stuffed animal so that Dale can take it up to Maland when he goes to Utah tomorrow.

Joann enjoyed the visit with her sisters.
Jay's brother Cecil and Sylvia also came to visit.
Jay was in bed so I took them into the bedroom to visit with him.
Ray came for dinner and to visit with his sister. We enjoy so much our family and friends taking time to come and see us.

Thank You Dean for your Visit

We have enjoyed Dean's visit and appreciate him taking time to come and visit us.
Dean provided a great service taking care of his Dad so that I could go to Utah for the blessing of our newest grandbaby.

We enjoyed some good visits together and Dean was able to spend some great time with his Dad.

Family Party

Monday evening, March 7, 2011 we planned a family party before Dean left to go back home.
I am happy that we had another day to spend with Dean before he left.
We invited Rauna and Dale over for dinner to celebrate their birthdays. I set the table with my nicest china and fixed lemon chicken, vegetables and birthday cake.
Dear and Dale enjoyed playing Connect Four.
Jamie fed her Grandpa while I washed the dishes after our dinner.
Ray got out the Dance Showdown game that he gave us for Christmas for the grandchildren to enjoy. Jamie is having fun with it.
Chelsea tries it out and has fun too.
Everyone wanted to play with Dean.
We enjoyed playing Phase 10 together.
Mark and Marlene and family joined us to visit with Dean and play games. Ryan shows me his toothless grin. He recently lost his two front teeth.
We had a fun game night together and especially enjoyed visiting.
Jaron and Emily like to visit with Dean and remember fun times together.
Adrianne came after work and Dean gave her a big bear hug.
We saved food for Adrianne so that she could eat after she got off work.
It was wonderful to have our Arizona families come over to spend the evening with us.
We had a great time together visiting with Dean, celebrating the birthdays and playing games.
