Rodgers and Hamerstein's Cinderella

Melvin gave his mothers, wife and daughters as ticket to the Broadway production of "Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella on June 1, 2017.

                                              It was a great girl's night out .

                         I enjoyed being with Tami and Eileen and my granddaughters.

             Rodgers and Hammerstein's production of Cinderella was held at the Eccles Theatre.

                                                      It is a new theatre in Salt Lake City.

                       This was my first time to attend a production in this beautiful theatre.

About five minutes before the first act ended we heard a noise and then they said it was a fire alarm and to exit the building without using the elevator.  We were almost on the top row in the middle so we were one of the last to exit the hall.  We just got to the stairs when they said it was okay to go back in.  They announced that it was not a fire drill but a real fire and that it would take them a few minutes to get things organized to continue.  After a while the play continued on.  This is the first that this has happened to me.

                                I enjoyed walking around to see the exhibits with Lauren.

The Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein was great.  I enjoyed the choreography, music, dancing and set designs and being with family.

                                                   It was a wonderful evening.

                        I hope that sometime I can go to some more productions at the Eccles Theatre.

End of School Activities

I enjoyed being with my grandchildren as they finished up their school year on June 1, 2017.

  Melvin bought a lunch and took it to school to eat with Carter on his half birthday.

                          Logan and I hung out together while he was with Carter.

                                   Logan enjoyed playing with the rocks by the school.

                                     He is excited about starting first grade next year.

 For Logan's last day of school the children made cars to sit in while they watched a movie.

 I went with Melvin to the dump to drop off some junk that a member of their ward didn't want to move to her new home.

                                      Ashley's friends came over to visit and hang out.

            Melvin is good to spend time with his children.  Melvin and Carter read together.

Logan's Kindergarten Graduation

I am happy that I got to be with my grandson Logan for his Kindergarten graduation on June 2, 2017.
The kindergarten classes all marked into the auditorium with their caps and gowns.

                                                       Logan was so cute.

            There were two classes.  I enjoyed watching Mrs Connor, Logan's teacher.

                                 The kindergarten children sang lots of cute songs.

                             They sang about things they have learned in kindergarten.

             Some of their songs were about the seasons-fall, winter, spring, summer.

                                          They used different actions with their songs.

They sang other songs about the holidays- Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween and other holidays.

       Their teacher Mrs. Connor was fun to watch as she helped the children with their actions.

                                               I enjoyed watching the children.

                                    You could see all of their different personalities.

                                   All of the little children were happy to perform.

         I especially enjoyed watching Logan and his actions as they sang the various songs.

                Logan showed how he could spell his name using American sign language.

                                                  Logan is such a cute little boy.

                                    The children sang a song using sign language.

                                                    Other songs were about numbers.

                                               They sang songs counting by 5's and 10's

                                Listening to the kindergarten children sing made me realize

                                            What a great teaching tool music is.

                                             It is so powerful in helping children learn.

                                                 They sang some funny songs too.

         I am happy to see them make kindergarten an enjoyable experience for the children.

                                       They have many years of school ahead for them.

                    I am happy that Logan had a positive learning experience in kindergarten.

Mrs. Connors presented her kindergarten class and said they were ready for first grade.
