Amy's Birthday

 I visited Amy early the morning of November 15th, 2015 to wish her a Happy Birthday.  She liked the bracelet I gave her with families, memories, spirituality etc. written on it.  We spent some fun times at Home Goods getting ideas to decorate our homes.   This is something we enjoy doing together.

At noon we met Ray at Rubios for some Mexican food.

We had a good visit as we ate.   

                                                       Amy and I spent the day together.

      In the evening Amy went to a party with her drum circle friends to further celebrate her birthday.

                     Friday we got with Rauna and Marlene for more celebrating of Amy's birthday.

                                                  Marlene gave Amy a CD for her birthday.

 Rauna gave Amy a beautiful plaque "Friends is the best gift we can give" with room for a photo.

                                       She also gave Amy a beautiful Christmas blanket.

                          Another birthday gift that I gave Amy is this "Happness" pillow for her bed.

                                         I helped Amy slip this beautiful rug under her bed.

                                       This is a cute pillow that Amy has in her living room.

                                  I bought this pillow top for Amy when I was in Israel.

                                 Amy had another free meal coming for her birthday at Grimaldi's.

                                       So Ray and I enjoyed going with her for delicious pizza.

                      Tuesday, November 24, 2015 I enjoyed an endowment session at the temple,

                                                 That night we saw this beautiful full moon.

What a beautiful sight.  In the winter the moon is closer to the earth so really looks big as it moves across the sky. 

Celebrating Joann's Birthday

 I am happy that I could be with my daughter, Joann, for her birthday.  I sang "Happy Birthday" to her early Sunday morning, November 15, 2015.

          Joann chose chocolate muffins, omelet and cracklin oat bran cereal for her birthday breakfast.

 I gave Joann  the book "Lehi's Isle of Promise" about the Book of Mormon for her birthday and also the book, "Not in Vain" about Ellis Shipp, a pioneer women doctor.  Joann is a nurse and also liked to read.

Preston shows me his BYU pajamas that he got last Christmas. He gave a good talk in Sacrament meeting today about  being thankful.

                                            I am happy to be with my daughter for her birthday.

   Joann is a great daughter, wife, mother and church member.  She brings lots of joy into my life.

                                   I am happy that my grandsons are learning to play the piano.

                 Janae's missionary picture and favorite scripture are on display at their ward building.

                                                    Emily's missionary picture is also on the wall.

                                         We went to our meetings early for Choir practice.

 Joann is a good conductor for the ward choir.  Their choir sang in Sacrament Meeting.  They also practiced some songs for Christmas.

                                        The tree in front of the church still has some fall leaves.

 After Sacrament meeting, Sunday School and Relief Society we came home for Joann's birthday dinner.

 For dinner she wanted roast beef with potatoes, carrots and onions.  I made a gravy to go with it.

                                     Joann had a fancy cheese cake for her birthday cake.

                                   We sang various versions of "Happy Birthday " to her.

                                                          Robert lit her birthday candles.

                                                         Joann made a birthday wish.

                                                      She  then blew out  the candles.

                                                           Robert cuts the birthday cake.

                         He made sure that everyone got the same amount of birthday cheese cake.

                                Joann's children then gave their mother their birthday cards and gifts.

                                   Levi gave his Mom a birthday card he made especially for her.

                          One of birthday gifts that Joann received was a new pair of winter boots.

                                                       She opens another birthday gift.

                                              She got a Cinderella DVD and a new nightgown.

                                           Preston gives his mom the card he made for her.

                                                 Evan has a special card for  his mom also.

           Spencer made a birthday card with a message on different layers, each a different color.

                          Joann got birthday calls for her older children that are not living at home.

 

                                    Robert in his card said that now they are the same age again.

 Joann with all of her birthday gifts.  After the birthday party I gave my children and grandchildren a special home evening lesson encouraging  them to live so that the Holy Ghost can direct their lives.  I bore my testimony about the important things in life at the end of my lesson.

         Joann took me to the Dayton airport at 4 am on Monday morning for my flights back to Arizona.

                                                  The sun rise from the airplane was beautiful.

                                        I am happy that I got to spend time with my Ohio family.

                                     All of my children and grandchildren are very special to me.

I flew to Charlotte, North Carolina on a little plane similar to this one and then transferred to a bigger plane for the four hour ride to Arizona.  I am grateful for my airline privileges that allow me to spend time with my families scattered all over the United States.
