Back to the Airport

I guess all things have to come to an end. It was time to go back to the airport and fly home. Lucy shows me some of her special friends before we leave.
Margie was kind enough to drive me three hours back to the San Antonio airport on January 19, 2012. They would not honor my ticket in Del Rio. I hated to see her have to drive three hours back alone with her children.
This has been a wonderful three days spent in Texas with my cute grandchildren.
I had so much playing with Lucy and Jay.
We stopped at a rest stop on the way to the airport. I found where we were on this big map of Texas.
Lucy is standing by this outline of a big star.
I enjoyed seeing the Mexican flag displayed at the rest stop.
The Texas flag and United States Flag were also displayed.
Everything in Texas is big.
Texas did have a beautiful and clean rest stop. I was impressed. Now I have visited all of my children in their homes since Jay passed away. My children and grandchildren and now great grandchildren are what bring me joy.

Another Day of Fun with my Texas Grandchildren

I enjoyed every minute with my grandchildren. It was so fun to just see them at play.
Lucy was invited to a play day with a neighbor who is also four years old.
Margie, Jay and I had a good visit while she was gone. Margie gave me some good physical fitness ideas.
When we walked down to pick Lucy up her she showed us the mask she had made.
Lucy came home and put on her wings to complete her outfit.
Jay loves to play with the cell phone.
Lucy and I played "I Spy" and "Look for the hidden objects", "Find Words that Rhyme, Begin with the same letter, etc. She is at such a cute age. I remembered how fun it is to teach children.
Jay loves being out doors so we rode bikes again.
Jay loves trying to do what Lucy does.
Their neighbor gave them some flutes that he made for them.
Jay learned how to make music too.
Lucy enjoyed making up tunes to play.
It was so nice of their elderly neighbor to make flutes for these children.
Lucy and Jay had a good time playing in the cupboard.
Jay liked to close the doors while he was inside.

Lucy and Jay enjoy playing together. Lucy is a good big sister.
It was fun to see again the quilt I made for Lucy when she was just a baby.
They enjoy being in the same bedroom.

Sweet Sally's Birthday Party

Lucy said that it was her doll, Sweet Sally's 5th birthday. She sent out invitations for her birthday party. I helped her spell the words she needed.
She had a birthday cake with one candle.
We all had party hats and sang Happy Birthday to Sweet Sally.
Lucy helped Sweet Sally blow out her candle.
Lucy unwrapped the gift she had for Sweet Sally for her birthday.
The gift was her newest stuffed rabbit.
We played a game of exploring with the glow sticks that I brought.
Jay found his wheelbarrow.
He loaded it with toys to take for a ride.
Jay loved to jump on Lucy's bed.
Lucy got these pajamas for Christmas.
Both grandchildren show me their Christmas pajamas. They have little monkeys on them. They are so cute.
I read Lucy a bed time story from the Book of Mormon stories.

More Fun With Lucy and Jay

While we were on base we went to the grocery store. Lucy loved driving the fire truck around while we shopped.
Jay loves these little magnetic "bugs".
Lucy loves to pretend. She was making dinner for me with various foods in each bowl.
Lucy is good to her little brother and helps him play.
Jay loves to stack the "insects".
Lucy takes her doll Sweet Sally for a ride.
This stroller is just the right size for Sweet Sally.
We played a game of Chutes and Ladders together.
This was another cute game we played together of Silly Sentences.
Lucy could read the sentences that I put together.
We went on a walk to see all the beautiful houses in the neighborhood and also to get the mail.
Jay likes to blow in the cardboard tube his mother gave him.
Lucy loves the trampoline.
Jay liked me to help him get on his trike so he could ride it.
He likes to make it go. It goes better backwards.
Margie grilled hamburgers for dinner.
We enjoy dinner together as we visit about our day.
