Tanner's Family Party

I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren on May 13, 2017.
I enjoy so much the book Carter wrote for me about Grandma Super Reader and Carter Camera Stealer.   I love reading his cute book with three chapters and illustrations over and over again.
Carter read his new book that he wrote to me.
Ashley works on her homework on the computer.
Tanner couldn't wait to put together the lego truck he got for his birthday.
Tami made Tanner's Birthday cake using the little tsu tsu for decorations.
My grandchildren are really into tsum tsumtoys.
Tsum are collectible stuffed toys of Disney characters.  They come in three different sizes. Tami put the smallest ones on Tanner's birthday cake.
We had Tanner's favorite dinner of meat balls and spaghetti for dinner.
After dinner we had a little family birthday party for him.
One of the games we played was stacking the tsum tsums.
We tried to see who could get the largest stack in a given time.  Tanner and his Dad were the first to try.
Ashley and Carter were the next ones.
I had a race with Kaitlyn to see who cold make the biggest stack of tsum tsums.
                                                   They were hard to stack.
All the tsums tsums are so cute.
We tried to make a large base so that we could make a largest pyramid of tsum tsums.

We went around the room giving each one of us, his parents, grandma and brothers and sisters telling something that we admired about Tanner.
Tanner then opened his birthday gifts from his family.

Tanner loved all of his birthday gifts.

Everyone had nice gifts for Tanner.
                                                  He is a happy ten-year-old.
Tanner got a big tsum tsum that is soft and fun to cuddle with.

Tanner got lots of nice gifts for birthday.
Tanner liked the Star War's Stories that I gave him for his birthday.
After the gifts it was time for Tanner's Birthday cake.
We all sang Happy Birthday to him.
Tanner has lots of talents.  I love to watch him in plays because he is always in character and puts los of emotion into any part he is given.
Tanner is also enjoying playing the piano and making lots of progress.

Tanner's Birthday Party

I am happy that I was invited to Tanner's 10th birthday party on May 13, 2017.
It is almost time for the Pinewood Derby.  Tanner showed me his car from last year and his Dad's pinewood derby cars which brought back so many memories.
Carter loves to write and illustrate chapter books.
Melvin and Tami always have fun birthday parties for their children.
Tanner's birthday party was held at Woodland Park close to their home.
We went early to reserve a spot and build a fire.
This is a nice place for a birthday party for 10 year old boys.
There are lots of green trees and a beautiful stream of water.
                                                     Tanner arrives with his friends.
The first thing we did was to have the boys make a boat for a boat race.
This is the sample I made to show them how.
We folded the paper to make a boat.
They each made a different color boat so they could tell which one is theirs.
The boys took their boats down to the stream of water for the boat race.
Melvin helped them launch their boats.
Which boat is going to win.
                                                Everyone cheered on their boat.
The boats kept on moving down the stream.
                                                      The water was moving fast.
Melvin helped the boats that got stuck to move again.
The boys followed along with their boats.
The boats are still moving down the stream.
                                                          Which boat will win.
                                                      The boat race continues.
                                                            It was a close race.
I was amazed at how the boats kept going.
Finally the boats went to where we couldn't see them again.
There was lots of water melting off from the snow in the mountains.
The boys sat around the camp fire.
Ashley led the next activity for the birthday party.
She showed the boys about geocaching.
They used as GPS (Global Positioning System) on the computer to show them where to go.
This helped them find the hidden treasure.
They found the treasure under the tree.
They left a note and put it back where it was for someone else to find.
For the next activity they set up a target.
The boys were each given little ribber chickens.
They flipped them to try and get them through the hole in the target.
This was another fun activity to watch/
Some of them were pretty successful.
Melvin let them try several times.
This was a fun activity for the boys.
Everyone was having a good time.
Melvin and Tami next gave each boy a nerf gun.
Tanner unwraps his nerf gun with the soft dart bullets.
He has to try it out.
They were each given a gun and extra bullets.
We hung in the trees plates with different points on each one.
Some were worth 50 points, others 20 or 10.
They had to hit the plate with the bullet dart to get points.
They tried to see who could get the most points.
The plates in the trees that they were trying to hit.
Some of the boys did pretty well hitting the different targets.
The next game was a variation of "Capture the Flag".
Melvin was the captain.  They had two teams.
One team tried to protect the captain and the other team tried to shoot him with their nerf gun.
Tanner, the Birthday boy had as great time with his friends.
The next activity was for Tanner to open his birthday gifts.
We came back around the fire.
Tanner's friends gave him some nice gifts.
One of the gifts he enjoyed was some legos with instruction to build a vehicle.
Carter gives his brother a gift.
Tanner takes time to unwrap each gift.

This toy makes a loud noise.
He thanks his friends for the great birthday gifts.

Everyone seemed to know just what he liked.
Tanner got lots of nice gifts from his little brothers and his friends.
The boys roasted marshmallows over the fire
They put them with chocolate and graham crackers to make smores.

                                                     The smores were yummy.

Tammy made a birthday cake for Tanner out of smores.
We sang Happy Birthday to Tanner as he blew out the candle.
.  Everyone had a great time at the party.  It was fun to be with them for the party.
