The view of the Agung Volcano and Lake Batur was fabulous in Bali.
We visited the volcano after stopping at the terraced rice paddiess on August 1, 2014.
The volcano was spectacular next to the beautiful Lake Batar.
The Hindu's are guarding this site too with the checkered black and white draped acound his statue.

We passed lots of statues and Hindu temples as we drove around Bali.
We had to make a detour because the streets were blocked off for a parade to honor the deceased.
The funeral must be for an important person because there were lots of people.

The Uluwatu Temple is at the top of a cliff looking down into the ocean.
We wanted to see the Kecak Fire Dance at sunset but we were too late to get tickets.
We thought the Kecak dance started at 7 pm but instead it started at 6 pm. I have great memories of seeing the dance and wish my family could have seen it too.
We watched the sun go down behind the c Uluwatu Temple.
The Hindu Temple is set high on the cliff with monkeys running around.
The waves form the ocean add to the beauty.

There were so many people around that it was hard to get a good picture.
The name of the temple "Uluwatu" comes frm the word ""Ulu" meaning the head and "watu" meaning stone. Therefor Uluwatu Temple means the temple built on the tip of a coral reef.

We climbed up lots of stairs going to the temple for this view.
I like to watch the waves splashing against the cliff.
We had to wear scarves around our waist to go to the temple.
They gave Tony a skirt to wear.

After checking in we took their shuttle down to their private beach.
I waded out into the ocean.
It was a beautiful beach with fine white sand.
