The Domain in Sydney

After visiting the Sydney Opera House we started walking down the pathway by the ocean to the Domain on Wednesday, May 9th, 2012.
I had to take one more photo before leaving.
I like my photos that have both the Bridge and the Opera House in them.
The walk along the ocean was beautiful.
This is an interesting tree with a trunk wide enough for a bench.
We stopped to see some cocotoos lined up on a fence.
They seemed to talk to us.
They were fun to watch.
As we looked back toward we could see the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
This is a place that guards the harbour and the ships that enter.
This was an interesting statue on the grass as we reached the Domain.
The trees and flowers are beautiful.
We walked aroung to Mrs. Macquaries Point and on to Mrs. Macquaries Chair.
We had a great view of the city from Mrs. Macquairies Point.
The view of the Opera House and the Bridge from Mrs. Macquarie's Point was fabulous.
The view was breath taking.
I took this photo from Mrs. Macquarie's point.
Daniel stands on the rocks near the point.
Daniel wanted me to take his picture.
We had fun playing among the rocks at Mrs. Macquarie's Point.
This was an interesting area at the ocean's edge.
The water is so blue here in contrast to the rocky coast.
The military base can be seen across the water.
It sits on a little Island.
This was a great place for the children to play.
This military base is on a little Island in the Harbour.
This looks like a fishing boat.
We enjoyed watching the ships come into the harbour.
Rebecca and Daniel sit on Mrs. Macquarie's Chair.
The wife of the Governor used to sit on the sandstone that looks like a chair and watch the ocean.
It is said that if you sit in Mrs. Macquarie's chair and make a wish that there is a good chance it will be granted. I hope I get my wish.
We saw lots of different kinds of boats.
We walked back toward the city on the Domain.
Sydney has some tall sky scrapers.
The tower restaurant is a familiar landmark.
On our walk we came to the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
The Art Gallery is an impressive building.
We didn't have time to look at the art in the Gallery.
There is not time to see everything that we would like to see.
There are several statues around the art gallery.
The Art Gallery was a beautiful building.
I took this photo of the front of the Art Gallery.
I took one more photo of the Art Gallery from a distance.
The trees in the Domain were beautiful.
This is a beautiful view of the St. Mary's Church.
We walked past this beautiful tree next to the Church.
St. Mary's Catholic Church was beautiful.
We walked in and admired the beautiful stain glass.
We didn't take pictures inside.
