Jordan and Kaitlin's Open House

Mark and Marlene put on a beautiful Open House for Jordan and Kaitlin in their back yard. They had it beautifully decorated with lots of lights, fall leaves and a beautiful back drop.
Jay and I were happy to have our picture taken with our handsome grandson and his new bride.
The parents of the bride and groom stood in the receiving line with them to greet their friends.
The tables were beautifully decorated. They have a great back yard for the party.
We enjoyed yummy refreshments and background music. The weather was wonderful and we all had a great time. Jordan and Kaitlin are a cute couple and I am sure will accomplish much as they work together to finish school and start a career.

Kaitlin's Bridal Shower

Laura, the wife of Jordan's twin brother gave Kaitlin a shower at her mother's home. Kaitlin has both of her mothers here with her.

Kaitlin received some nice gifts at the bridal shower.
Rauna and her girls and Emily, another one of Jordan's sisters were at the Bridal shower.
The Mortensen's gave Jordan and Kaitlin a beautiful painting of the Salt Lake Temple where they were sealed.

Family Fun after Thanksgiving Dinner

Rauna showed the video they took of Dale performing in the "On Broadway" show in their Stake.
Ray made so many home made mashed potatoes that there were lots left over. He did a good job.
Fred had a cute activity. He divided the family into teams and gave each team a box of spaghetti and some masking t ape. Each team had 15 minutes to build a structure that would hold an egg. If you look closely you can see the three different structures. They all held an egg but were built very differently.
Basketball was a fun family activity after our Thanksgiving dinner.
The family also enjoyed playing Ticket to Ride. We had a fun afternoon together.

Thanksgiving 2009

Mark and Marlene's ward cooks the turkeys for everyone all night in a fire pit.
For our Thanksgiving dinner I made lots of home made rolls candied sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie from our Halloween Jack-o-lantern.
Amy did a great job with the "Crown Jewel Jello Salad". This dish is our family tradition.

We had 25 children and grandchildren around our Thanksgiving table. Helen provided some cute decorations. We all told one thing that we are thankful for.
This picture is taken of the other end of the table. I am thankful most of all this year for my eternal companion and the promise that we can be together for the eternities if we live worthy.

Jordan's Tool Party

We have a family tradition of having a tool party for the groom to help him have the tools he needs to take care of his new home. Jordan, Kaitlin and Rebecca just arrived home from BYU an hour before the party for the Thanksgiving holiday.
We enjoyed being with the family and honoring our grandson Jordan and his beautiful bride, Kaitlin.
Jordan got some great tools. As they unwrapped their gifts the person giving the gift got to ask the couple questions to get to better know them.
Marlene finished the jean quilt that we have all been working on to give to Jordan and Kaitlin.
After the party we all brought yummy goodies to eat.

Christmas Lights at the Mesa Arizona Temple

When I left the temple after attending a session on November 25th they were testing the Christmas lights.
It was wonderful to be almost the only one on the temple grounds to enjoy the beautiful lights.
I look forward each year to the beauty of the lights and the reflection of the temple in the pool.
What a beautiful peaceful sight and what a wonderful way to begin the Christmas Season.
The three wisemen and their camels are displayed on the front lawn of the temple visitor center.

Robert Snedigar's Funeral

November 24, 2009 I attended the funeral for Robert Snedigar. He was a humbled man with many talents and expressed love by his kind acts and service. I visited with him at the hospital several weeks ago and he asked about all of my children. He asked especially what Amy was doing and said that she was a beautiful girl. I was happy that he remembered our children and was interested in finding out about them.
This is the family as we remember them when we lived in Tempe 4th Ward. Kathy, John and Terry preceded their father in death. Shirley has with her three of their six children, David, Rebecca and Susan.

Granddaughter Jamie performs in Grease

November 30th I went out to Gilbert to watch my grandduaghter Jamie perform in Grease.
She made a cute waiter.
In one scene Jamie was taking orders in a drive in movie on roller skates. She is so cute.
You could tell Jamie was enjoying being in all the dances. If you have good eyes you can spot her on the top row left side wearing her waitress uniform.
I am grateful to have so many talented grandchildren that invite me to their performances. I love watching them perform in musicals.

Amy's new car

Amy celebrated her birthday by buying a new car.
She was so excited to find another Nissan Maxima. This one is a 2004 model.
Her old and new cars sit side by side at the car dealership.
I enjoyed going car shopping with Amy.

Amy's Birthday cake at our Family Party

While we ate Mexican Food we shared favorite memories of Amy and things we admire about her.
We enjoyed a nice evening together.
Amy received some nice birthday gifts. We all love Amy.
We all love Amy.
Amy blew out all of her birthday candles so gets her wish.

Amy's Surprise Birthday Party

We surprised Amy with a party here in our home to celebrate her birthday. She was very surprised.
Amy is such a joy and is so good to come and visit her parents and do things for us.
We all had birthday hats and cute birthday decorations.
Amy always has a smile.
We all brought Mexican food to share since we knew that this is Amy's favorite food.
