Provo Pioneer Village Autumn Festival

We had about 2,000 people come to our Autumn Festival at the Provo Pioneer Village on Friday, October 26, 2018. 

                                   We decorated with corn stocks and burlap at the entrance. 

                                   We set  up this area as as place where they could take photos.

                                  I  am standing by the cute scare crow that Kathy made.

                     I was the story teller in the school house.  I  told my "Strange Visitor" story.

                      I also told a true pioneer story about a little girl that was protected by a bear.

                                          We had lots of people come to hear the stories. 

                                      We told the stories several times throughout the evening.

                                               A black smith gave a demonstration.

                                                Kathy set  up some doughnuts on a string. 

                             They brought this carriage out in front of one of the cabins.

                       She played the violin while some children danced the Virginia reel.

                                                   Another activity was making candles.

                                               The corn husks dolls were fun to make. 

                                              This was another fun activity for the children.                                        
                                 The children enjoyed pushing and riding in the hand carts.

BYU Basketball Game with Kenneth

 Kenneth invited me to go with him to the first BYU Basketball game of the season on September 24, 2018.  I had to hurry home from the Conference Center to go to the game.

             I enjoyed so much spending the evening with my son Kenneth.  He is so good to me. 

                                                      I  enjoy watching basketball. 

                          This was the first exhibition basketball game for St. Martins. 

                          The final score for the game was BYU  92 and Saint Martins 71.

 Watching the BYU Basketball team brought back lots of memories of when I was a BYU student in the Fieldhouse.

 We sang the BYU School  Song at the end of the basketball game.

Beautiful Fall Leaves

            The leaves on the tree in front of my home turned to beautiful fall colors.

 While I was giving a tour of the Conference Center on October 24th I took this photo from the roof.

                                                  The fall leaves are so colorful.

              The garden on the roof of the Conference Center also has some beautiful colors.

                                  This bush on the roof has brilliant yellow leaves.

Evan's Missionary Homecoming

 I attended Beavercreek  Ward on Sunday October 21, 2018 with my four handsome grandsons. Evan gave a grea homecoming talk about Grace.

                                      Sunday dinner with my Ohio children and grandchildren.

 Evan set up a table with some of his missionary souvenirs for the Open House to welcome him home.

 They had about ninety neighbors and friends come to welcome Evan home and give them love for him and their prayers for his upcoming surgery to remove the tumor on his kidney .

 Joann  made a video of Evan's mission and they displayed the "Welcome Home" sign they had at the airport.

They served apple dump  cake and ice cream.tot their guests that came.

                                           Everyone seemed to be having a good time. 

                                         I had a good visit with my friend Sue.                                           

                                    Chris and Melissa also visited with me. 

                        I am grateful that Evan served such a good mission and pray for his quick recovery.

2018 Super Regional Band Competition in Indianapolis

 Levi, Spencer and Preston left early to take t he bus to Indianapolis for the 2018 Super Regional Band Competition.

 Robert, Joann and I left soon after.  We arrived In Indianapolis inn time to see the Beavercreek Band unloading their semi

                      Spencer plays six drums called the tenor drums. in the band.

                           Preston plays the mellophone and  Levi is the drum  major.

  Joann and I ready to enter the Indianapolis Colts Lucas Oil Stadium for the band competition. There were 70 band competing in this competition. We watched bands from Texas, Missouri, Ohio and Indianapolis..

                                                       The theme of the Beavercreek Band show was "Mirrorball"

               Beavercreek High School has 321 members of their band and color guard.

                                  

                                 I  enjoyed watching Levi direct the band as their drum major.

                                                      They made lots of interesting formations.

                                            Beavercreek High School Band put on a great show.

 We wore the Beavercreek High School colors to cheer on the band at the competition.
