More Special Happoenings in September

My thoughts have been of Jay, my eternal companion, as we celebrate his birthday on September 18th.  It has been four years since he passed away.  I miss him so much.

                                  I took this photo by my home just before the Super Moon. 

 I couldn't get good photos with my camera but I enjoyed seeing the super moon eclipse that turned into a blood moon.

Today, September 28, 2015 I listened to the funeral services honoring Richard G. Scott who was a wonderful apostle and friend to all.  I remember  when I was able to shake his hand and his warm greeting when we were serving our mission in Nauvoo.  

Ackensah's Baptism

I am so happy that I was invited to be with my great granddaughter Ackensah for her baptism on Saturday, September 26, 2015.  

Ackensash has been waiting her her special day when she could be baptized and become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and receive the Holy Ghost.

                                             Her parents have taught her well.

 Ackensah is blessed to have a father who holds the priesthood and was worthy to baptize and confirm her.

Her grandparents and uncles were there to give their support.

                                             I am grateful to be her great grandmother.

I hope Ackensah knows how much I love her.

Her Uncle Ray also came to her baptism.

Ackensah has two grandmothers and two grandfathers who love her.

                          Her grandparents gave her a gift of her very own set of scriptures.

She has a nice case to carry her scriptures with her.

                       We were invited over to Ackensah's home after her baptism for pizza.

Ackensah and Lyla are from the same ward and were baptized at the same time.

                                              Tommy and Diane are Lyla's grandparents. 

                                               Tommy and Ray are  cousins.

Mesa High Homecoming Parade

 Friday afternoon, September 25 , 2015 I went with Marlene and Bonnie and their families to the Mesa High Homecoming Parade.

 The Parade started with the ROTC marching with the United States and Arizona flags.

                             I love the United States and pray that we can keep our freedom. 

                                         The different clubs marched in the parade.

 There were a lot of Mesa High Cheerleaders for the various sports that marched in the parade.

                                                    The Pommies were with them.

                           It was fun to relive days when my children were in High School.

                                      Next came the Mesa High Jack Rabbit Band.

                                                            I liked their music.

                                          They seem to have a big band this year.

                                                   I like watching parades and bands.

                                                        This student has lots of spirit.

                                       Everyone seemed to be having a good time.

                                  All of the Mesa High Clubs had entries in the parade.

                                             More entries from different clubs.

               There were lots of Mesa High School students in their Homecoming Parade.

 Dale came by on his Go-Cart but went too fast for me to get a good photo of him.

               This must be the Science Club entry with the poster "Science Never Dies"

            The freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors all had floats in the parade.

                           There was a competition to see who had the best float.

              I don't know what the point was of carrying this big tire but they were having fun.

                              Dale came back around the parade to where we were watching it.

                                               The volley ball team were on this float.

                                                  Kyle marched with the swim team.

                                     This was a cute float of "Legend of the Lock Ness Monster".

           I finally got a good shot of Dale with his Go-Cart even thou he didn't stop.

                             He liked riding back and forth on the parade route.

 They said that it fell apart when they tried to move it but I guess they got it put back together.

                                     This was a fun Mesa High Homecoming Parade.

                  My grandchildren loved all the candy they threw for them to pick up.

                                                            Jaymin is getting big.

 After the parade I went by for Evelyn to go with me to the movie, "Once I Was a Beehive".  It was a cute movie.

I only got to watch the first quarter of BYU playing Michigan on Saturday morning before going to Ackensah's baptism.
