Tyler and Levi Sing at Missionary Fireside

 I enjoyed listening to my grandsons Tyler and Levi perform with the BYU Men's Chorus at a Missionary Fireside.

                                                 Their music was beautiful.

They had lots of family support at the Missionary Fireside.  Jenni went with me but is not in the photo.

Provo Pioneer Village Autumn Festival

 I was a storyteller on October 25th at the Autumn Harvest Event down at the Provo Pioneer Village.

                        The grounds were covered with fall leaves at the Village.

                           We went early to decorate the grounds before the Fall Festival.

      Kathy put a new coat of paint of the oxen after it was marked on when we had our break in.

                              All of the pumpkins add to the Autumn decorations.

               The Turner Home in the Fall.  I am the care taker of this home at the village.

 I put on my black witches hat to tell the Strange Visitor Story in the school house at the village.

                                  I had a good audience to listen to my story.

I then put on my pioneer hat to tell  a true pioneer story about a little girl that was lost and slept next to a bear for three nights which kept her safe and warm.  She thought the bear was a big black dog.

                                   Alex brought out the handcarts for the event.

                                       Our guests enjoyed pulling the handcarts.

                               We had lots of visitors come to our Autumn Festival.

                                 A group taught square dancing at the Festival.

       I enjoyed Square Dancing at the end of the evening after I finished telling my stories.

            Steve made  scones and fried them while you watched so that he could serve them hot.

                                      Mike brought an apple press and lots of apples.

                     They pressed the apples and then served the fresh apple juice.

          We even had a blacksmith showing how they made things needed for pioneer living.

                                      This is always interesting  to watch.

                              Another activity at the Festival was candle dipping.

                                              The Carpenter shop at the village.

                                   Elaine and I traded off telling stories all evening.

We both told our stories many times to lots of people that came to listen.. I would put on a witches hat for the Strange Visitor Story and then a pioneer hat for the pioneer story about the little girl saved by the bear.

                    Linda showed the Deseret Alphabet that the pioneers used for a short time.

After the event we moved all of the wagons inside so that they would be protected from the weather.

     I enjoyed helping with the Autumn Festival at the Provo Pioneer Village with all of my friends.

Grandma School with my Great Grandsons

I had three great grandsons come to my Grandma School on October 25, 2019.  They enjoy the books I read to them  and it is fun for me also..

We missed Maggie and Riley who moved  to Logan with their family.  Today I had Samuel, Caleb and Jonathan.  
             I gave them some activity pages to do helping them with rhyming words and shapes.

They love taking the actiivity pages home with them.

Te little boys were so excited to start learning  that letters make sounds and sounds make words and that they could start reading some of the words.

   After Grandma School instead of playing with the toys they wanted to try reading by themselves.

                          It is so rewarding to see all the progress they are making in reading.

My granddaughters say that their boys look forward all week to Grandma School.  I am amazed at how much they have learned since I started teaching them in Grandma School.

I invited Jared and Maria to dinner

   I invited Jared and Mariah to lunch at my house on October 24, 2019.   I  made roast and vegetables.  

                    I cut up one of the pumpkins from my garden and made a pumpkin pie.

   They didn't have time for dessert so they came back the next day  to have some pumpkin pie.  I invited Kenneth to come over and have some pumpkin pie also.  My home grown pumpkin made a delicious pie.

              Jared and Mariah plan to stay in my home during the winter while I am in Arizona.

Edgewood Ward Truck or Treat

I walked down to the Edgewood Ward Church Parking Lot on October 24th, 2019 for the Halloween Truck or Treat.

                                            They had some cute cars decorated.

                      It was fun to see all the cute children in their Halloween costumes.

                              The children went from car trunk to car trunk for treats.

                                            These children were having a good time.

                            They served chili and corn bread at the ward Halloween party.

                                          Some interesting trunk decorations.

                              The children in the ward were having a good time together.

                      It is always wonderful  to see people having some good clean fun together.

                                                      These little children are so cute.

This was a great place for the ward members to help the children be safe as they got their treats.

                                        I enjoyed seeing all the cute costumes.
