Full Time Missionaries Visit

  The full time sisters n our ward, Sister Heaton and Sister Johnson stopped by to visit on Saturday afternoon, January 26, 2019.   I took their photos and e-mailed them to their parents.

Family Dinner in my Home

                                  I enjoyed putting out all of my Valentine decorations.

                              I am so blessed to have a beautiful home where I enjoy living.

 I set my table with my nicest china and silver to invited my brothers and sisters over for dinner on January 24, 2019.

  Rolf and Jean, Garry and Janet and Leona all came.  i also invited Rauna and Fred, Ray and Amy.

                                                   We had a good visit as we ate.

                                   Rolf recited one of his cowboy poems that he wrote.

                 Amy didn't come for dinner but she did come later to visit with her Aunts and Uncles.

                Rolf is my oldest brother.    I enjoyed having my brothers and sisters in my home.

New Carpet in Patio

I found some new carpet for my patio on sale at Costco on January 18, 2019  that I purchased .  I enjoy sitting out in my patio and reading.

Day spent at the Houston Temple

 We spent most of January 22nd, 2019 in the Houston Temple.  We left Madisonville at 5 am. and returned about three.

 While Nena served her shift as an ordinance worker I was able to go to two endowment sessions and do the initiatories for 5 family members.

 It was wonderful to be with my sister in the temple.

                               There is always a special spirit felt in the "House of the Lord".

 On the hour and a half drive back to Madisonville we saw the statue of Sam Houston along the side of the freeway.

               This is a big statue of Sam Houston overlooking the highway as we drove past.

 Wednesday morning we left at 3:30 a.m. for Lynita to take me back to College Station to the airport.

             My flight was cancelled so I had to wait for five hours in the airport for the next flight.

 This made it too late to go on to Salt Lake to serve at the Conference Center.  I am so grateful for the good visit I had with Nena, Arnold and Lynita in Texas.

Home Evening with Texas Friends

 I went back to the church on Monday evening,  January 21st with Nena, Arnold and Lynita for a home evening activity with members of their branch.

                                    The evening started with a pot luck dinner together.

 I know most of the people because of the various times I have visited their branch through the years with my sister and family.

Lynita gave the lesson on ways to improve our personal scripture study as outlined in our manual for the New Testament this year "Come Follow Me".

A Fun Reunion in Texas

 Leona and her friend Lyn were in Houston so drove over to spend the day with Nena and me on January 21st, 2018.  We had a good time together.  Lyn was the missionary secretary in the Mexican when we were all missionaries there so we shared lots of memories about our missions in Mexico.

Moon Eclipse

 I was visiting Nena and Arnold on Sunday night January 20th and got to see the moon eclipse with them.

                                   They live out in the country so we had a good view.

                                             It was fun to see the moon change.

During a total lunar eclipse, Earth completely blocks direct sunlight from reaching the Moon. The only light reflected from the lunar surface has been refracted by Earth's atmosphere. ... Due to this reddish color, a totally eclipsed Moon is sometimes called a blood moon.

                                                This was interesting to watch.

I  am happy that I was in an area where it was easy to see because there won't be another one for several years.

Visiting Nena and Arnold in Texas

 I fly to College Station on January 19, 2019.  Nena and Lynita came to the airport for me and I rode with them back to their home in Madisonville.

                  It was great being Arnold and Nena for four days.  They showed me a good time.

 Nena showed me some of the pillows that she has made.  She said that she has hand sewn about 200 pillows to give to patients at the nursing home.

                      Nena said that this photo reminds her of her two little boys on their farm.

 They have a beautiful farm and are self sufficient.   They grow or produce almost everything they need.

                                      I enjoyed going to church on Sunday with my sister.

 I have visited her so often that I know many of the people in their branch.  It was great to see them again.

               Arnold drove me by their Madisonville High School on the way home from church.

 Lynita has taught agriculture here for many years and has won lots of National Champions.  It was great to see her name on these posters as the sponsor.

                                       They have a great agriculture program at the school.

                         Lynita said that her favorite subject to teach was about wild life.

       We always had lots of good food to eat  and lots of good visiting.  I had a wonderful time.

Dinner Invitation

 Garry and Janet are in town to warm up from the cold winter in Utah.  They invited me and Melissa,  their granddaughter, to go to dinner with them at a Thai Restaurant on Friday evening January 18, 2019. We had a good visit as we ate.

                               They came over to my home for ice cream after we ate.

Melissa is living in the dorm and going  to ASU.  I plan to invite her to dinner in my home soon.
