Broadmor School is full of memories

Ray and Rauna both enjoyed walking around Broadmor School with me. They had pictures displayed of the Broadmor Faculty through the years. Ray wanted to visit each classroom where he attended kindergarten through sixth grade. It is sad to see our school torn down. Change is hard.

Tile Wall at Broadmor

Years ago we purchased a tile at Broadmor School for their tile wall in memory of nine of our eleven children that attended elementary school here from 1973 to 1991. It has faded but still looks good. Ray also got to see Wayne Taysom, another one of his great Broadmor teachers.

More about closing Broadmor School

Broadmor School has not changed much through the years. I served as Broadmor Family Association President and Room Mother most of the years we had children attending the elementary school to support them and their education. Ray and I are shown with Joe Spracale and Herb Hackett who were principals at Broadmor and Ron and Bertie Bowles. Ron Bowles was one of Ray's teachers.

Broadmor School in Tempe, Arizona

We were invited to an open house at Broadmor School before they tear it down to make room for the new school they are making. Broadmor School was just a half block away from where we lived in Tempe, Arizona. We have so many memories of the classrooms, hallways, cafteria, playground, drinking fountains, etc. during the 18 years we had children attending there.

End of School Activities

We have been busy with end of school activities and are grateful for all the good things our children and grandchildren are doing. I was happy to have Ray and Amy visit on Mother's Day and also Marlene and Rauna and their families later in the day with phone calls from our other children. I am sending a picture of Jamie receiving an award for writing the best short story in all of Mesa 8th grades and having her story published, Quinn playing the violin in his final violin concert as he graduates form Robson Elementary School, Emily performing in her Choir Concert at Taylor Jr. High and Rebekah receiving the Mesa High Performing Arts Service Award. I love being a mother and grandmother.
